NCDOT has begun upgrading and replacing curb ramps at intersections along Main Street. Work has started at the Main/England intersection and will move east, terminating near Silvermont.
As part of the state’s infrastructure enhancements downtown, approximately 40 ramps will be replaced over the next two months before the Main Street repaving begins later this summer. Residents and visitors should expect to see periodic sidewalk closures and intermittent lane closures.
