funding for from Blue Zones Project Brevard. This fall the garden has been expanded with more raised
beds as well as tables, benches, and a bike rack thanks to a grant that the City from AARP. The AARP
grant also provided funding to help hold this community celebration.
“A community garden is a wonderful space where people can work outdoors in the fresh air growing
their own food as well as work in companionship with others,” said Mayor Maureen Copeloff. It’s a
space to relax and get to know your neighbors. We’re not just building gardens we are building
community.”
The fall festival is being sponsored by AARP Mountain Region, Blue Zones Project Brevard, The
Cooperative Extension Service and the City of Brevard.
