Termination of Declaration of a State of Emergency

Winter Storm Izzy, January, 2022

 

            WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C.G.S. SS166A-19.22, a political subdivision of the state is authorized to declare a State of Emergency in the event of a pending disaster; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C.G.S. SS166A-19.22, a political subdivision is defined as an incorporated city of which the City of Brevard qualifies; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C.G.S. SS166A-19.22, a disaster is defined as an occurrence or imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property from any natural or man-made accidental, military, or paramilitary cause; and

WHEREAS, a Declaration of a State of Emergency was issued on the 15th of January, 2022, due to the impending, and subsequent, Winter Storm Izzy on the night of January 15, 2022;

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me as Mayor under N.C.G.S. SS166a-19.22 and by the Code of Ordinances of the City of Brevard, l hereby terminate the declared existence of a State of Emergency in the City of Brevard, NC.

Section 1. I hereby order the termination of this declaration to be distributed as necessary to assure its proper implementation.

Section 2. This termination shall become effective immediately upon execution by the signatories below.
