[ARCHIVED] City of Brevard Indoor Mask Resolution

Mask Resolution

The CDC has identified the Delta Variant as the most dominant strain of the COVID-19 virus, accounting for the overwhelming majority of new cases. The Delta Variant is two times more contagious and impacts children more violently than COVID-19. According to TC Health, there was a 34% increase in cases between August 4th - August 11th, with 23 percent of those cases being children aged 0-17, and half of them being under the age of 12 and unvaccinated.

The City of Brevard formally supports the CDC, NCDHHS, and TC Health guidelines and has passed a resolution that urges all of its residents, employees, and visitors to wear masks when indoors or in crowded settings, maintain social distance, and practice good hand hygiene when possible. The city is requiring all staff and visitors to wear masks when visiting City Hall and other city-owned locations.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We strongly encourage our community to wear face masks and consider vaccinations, if not already done so. Let us get past this pandemic and return to our normal way of life. However, we can only do so if we all work together to wear masks, maintain social distancing, get vaccinated, and encourage one another to do the same. As a community we must come together, work together, and look to better days ahead together to get past COVID-19.
