The Reassurance Program is open to all members of our community who are elderly or disabled or who have other reasons that make living alone a concern for their family and friends. In this program, each member has a scheduled time they call in to our Communications Center each morning so a Telecommunicator can give them a friendly "good morning!" and ask how they are doing. If for some reason we do not receive a call from them, Communications staff will attempt to make contact by phone. If contact is still not successful, then a Patrol Officer will be sent to perform a welfare check.
This program ensures that more vulnerable members of our community are checked on and have contact with someone each day. To be added to this program please call the Brevard Police Department at (828) 883-2212 or complete our online application.
