City sanitation crews collect brush and leaves, including Christmas trees, from city customers. These items are taken to the Public Works Facility where it is ground into mulch. This program helps recycle the city’s yard waste and conserves landfill space.
Mulch is available to the public as follows:
Pickup truck loads or smaller for city residential customers - Free (Pink Ticket will be issued for number of loads requested)
All other loads - $10 per yard (Pink Ticket required for number of loads paid for)
Payment must be made in advance at the Finance Department located in City Hall at 95 West Main Street.
Bring your truck or trailer and Pink Ticket to the facility located at 232 Cashiers Valley Road between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and we will be happy to load it for you.
Smaller amounts are available too! Bring your can, bag, or box and take the mulch you need. Mulch and leaves are great for landscaping, gardens, and flower beds.
