The City of Brevard Wastewater Treatment Plant was constructed to treat the wastewater generated in the city. The plant is located in the northeastern portion of the city adjacent to the French Broad River.
The wastewater plant is designed to treat an average flow of 2,5 MGD and consists of the following units:
- Stationary screens rotating biological contractors
- Clarifiers chlorination system
- Sludge holding tank
- Sludge pump station
- Belt filter press
Pump Stations
Twelve pump stations serve the Wastewater Plant. There are 2 main pump stations. Pump Station Number 1 is located in the southern portion of the city adjacent to Gallimore Road. Pump Station Number 2 is located in the central portion of the city adjacent to Neely Road.
