Responsibilities
The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for a variety of tasks within the City of Brevard and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. These include land development review, zoning and subdivision permission, floodplain development, code enforcement, and all long-range land use and transportation planning.

The Planning Department reviews development projects to assure that they are in compliance with adopted ordinances, codes, and regulations, and maintains policy documents such as the Comprehensive Plan, Pedestrian Plan, and the Official Zoning Map.
Location
The Planning Department is located on the second floor of City Hall, 95 West Main Street, next to Harris Ace Hardware. Enter the glass doors on Main Street for the public restrooms and Council Chambers and take the stairs to the second floor. If you require elevator access please enter City Hall from the second entrance by the Fire Department and ask to be shown upstairs.
