Responsibilities
The City of Brevard Human Resources provides administrative and personnel support for the departments within the city. This support includes recruitment and selection, training, benefits administration, personnel programs and policies, and additional human resource functions. It is also the responsibility of this department to ensure legal and ethical decision making with respect to policies and procedures.

Employment Opportunities
Vacancies are posted internally to allow employees the opportunity for advancement, promotion, or departmental change. If vacancies cannot be filled from internal posting, the Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions and the local newspaper (Transylvania Times) are issued job ads which contain a brief description of the position(s), salary and the last day for accepting applications. Professional vacancies are advertised through the North Carolina League of Municipalities publications; the Southern City and the League Letter.
